Ballywillan Railway StationCo. CorkBallywillan Railway Station situated on the west shore of Lough Kinsale was on the Old Cavan Branch Line. This line operated from 1852 to 1962, when the station provided contact with the outside world. In the summer of 1986 a Casket of Book Shrine was found on the bed of the nearby lake. It is the earliest and largest example of a Book Shrine dated back to the 18th Century. It is now in the National Museum in Dublin. | |
