Millstreet is romantically situated among the mountains on the south side of the River Blackwater. It has an international horse show every year, organised at the initiative of a local businessman.

A quiet town nicely situated between the hills and near the source of the Blackwater River. It has a little local museum. International Equestrian events are now staged annually in this progressive town.

Coolclough Church, built in 1833, is a Gothic extravaganza created by a local sculptor, Charles O' Connell: other creations of his can be seen locally.
